As of January 31, 2009, KickStart has helped more than 400,000 people get out of poverty and start on an upwards spiral of prosperity.
400,000 is a tiny fraction of the 1.1 billion people living on less than $1/day, but it is a start. Just to put this in perspective, this is equal to the population of Oakland, California, or Miami, Florida.
